When both questionnaires have been returned, your child’s referral will be added to the queue to be reviewed by a clinician.
The clinician will decide whether your child’s referral should go on either the autism or ADHD waiting list, or both. They may reject the referral if there is not enough evidence to suggest an assessment would be the right choice at this time.
There may be a wait for a clinician to review your questionnaires and referral information. It may be some time before your hear the outcome of this review, but this will not affect your place in the waiting list.
The questionnaires are used with the referral information to understand your child at home and in school. Our clinicians will use this information to decide whether your child is displaying behaviours that fit better with an autism or ADHD assessment. This will make sure your child is added to the waiting list for the right assessment.
They may also decide there is not enough evidence supplied to suggest an assessment would be right at this moment in time and reject the referral.
