Ryegate House is a fully accessible six bed respite unit with facilities specially designed for children and young people with complex health needs and disabilities.
It provides a safe and comfortable environment, inside and out, where children and young people can enjoy their stay.
Browse through the photo gallery to have a look around, and read more about our facilities below.
We have a small kitchen where drinks and basic snacks can be made. Nutritionally balanced meals are prepared and delivered three times a day to the unit after being prepared in the professional kitchen at the main hospital site. If your child has any specific dietary needs, this will need to be discussed after acceptance for short breaks.
We provide a laundry service for children and young people if needed during their stay.
To ensure the safety of children and staff we have a number of moving and handling aids.
A risk assessment takes place with all children and young people that access short breaks at Ryegate House to identify risks and ensure that all safety measures are in place for your child’s stay.
For safety measures we use baby monitors with camera facility to ensure visibility on the children and young people at all times.
