Congratulations to our Star Awards 2023 winners

A line of our Star Awards trophies
03 October 2023

We shone a light on all our wonderful colleagues and teams at this year’s Sheffield Children’s Star Awards on Friday! Our Star Awards is an award ceremony that recognises individuals and teams for their incredible dedication, hard work and care at Sheffield Children’s.

We celebrated with awards, food, dancing and more, it was a spectacular night that left our colleagues feeling very loved!

A Clinical Nurse Specialist who goes above and beyond the call of duty for her patients and their families has been awarded with the individual Children’s Star Award.

Lizzie Dodd, a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist from the Sheffield Eating Disorders Assessment and Treatment Team (SEDATT), was awarded the prestigious award nominated by patients and their families. One person who nominated Lizzie said: “She made me feel really safe and relieved, like a lot of pressure had been taken off my back. You’ve helped us and so many other people, you’ve helped me feel like the kid I used to be. You deserve this award!”

As part of our award ceremony, nominators were given the opportunity to record special video messages for Lizzie, along with the winners of our team Children’s Star Award- The Paediatric Bone Disease Service, which can now be viewed on our YouTube channel. We were even able to surprise Lizzie with her award before the event!

Alongside Lizzie, a number of our colleagues and teams were recognised at the Star Awards and you can find out the full list of both our highly commended colleagues and winners below!
