Sheffield Children’s is welcoming nominations from children, young people and families who have received care in the past year for the Children’s Star Award.
Sheffield Children’s Star Awards are all about recognising and celebrating the incredible people and teams across Sheffield Children’s who help create healthier futures for children and young people.
Last year, Laura Linley, Senior Staff Nurse, and her Ward 5 colleagues both received outstanding nominations from Becca and Olivia, who told us all about their experience at Sheffield Children’s after Olivia was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation – a condition where the lower part of the brain pushes down into the spinal canal.
“It was absolutely incredible to just hear [Olivia] laugh when I potentially didn’t know whether she was going to make it. It was extraordinary that [Laura] was able to get that out of her, and I can’t thank her enough for that.”
Help us shine a spotlight on your star this year
This award ceremony is even more special than usual, because Sheffield Children’s will be celebrating its 150th anniversary in the same month, so there’s never been a better time to get involved.
We know that everyone who works at Sheffield Children’s is amazing, but now it’s your chance to tell us who’s really shone for you. Maybe someone gave you or your child outstanding care, supported you through a tough time, or simply made your day a little brighter. Whoever it is – and whatever the reason – we want to hear your story.
You can nominate anyone – an individual or a whole team – from anywhere across Sheffield Children’s.
Nominations will close on Friday 25 September, so don’t miss your chance to say thank you to someone who’s made a difference.
