Any child or young person who has received treatment from Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust services in 2019 can make a nomination before the end of January with the winner being announced in March.

The Sheffield Children’s Star Awards have been running for more than nine years, and each year children have awarded this special prize to staff who went the extra mile for them.

Last year, Laura Butler, from Neurosurgery, and The Sleep Service Team won the individual and team Children’s Star awards, which are nominated for by patients and their families.

In her nomination, Laura was also described as a “shining star” who “brightens up the room when she walks in and makes children laugh.”

The Sleep Service Team were nominated because from the moment one parent met them, they “knew instinctively that they were the best clinical team they could ever find.”

Nominations close on 26 January.
