Our first DAISY award winner was described as ‘an absolute star’ who ‘goes above and beyond to be there when families need it the most.’
Congratulations to… Janine Reynolds, Clinical Nurse Specialist in Sleep Services!
Janine said: “I’m delighted and stunned to receive the first ever DAISY award for Sheffield Children’s! Thank you to those who nominated me. I feel so grateful to be working in such a fantastic team and this is the cherry on top of such an amazing week after moving into our brand new Sleep House!”
Janine has worked in the field of sleep medicine as an experienced Nurse Specialist since 2008. She runs nurse-led sleep clinics to provide specialist advice to educate and support children, young people and their parents or carers.
The DAISY Award is your opportunity to say thank you to a nurse at Sheffield Children’s for delivering outstanding care to you or your loved ones.
We are proud to partner with The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Foundation, an international recognition program that honours and celebrates the skilful and compassionate care nurses and midwives provide every day.
One of the nominators said: “She goes above and beyond to be there when families need it the most. She is an absolute star and makes our job so enjoyable and satisfying during a very unpredictable time that we have never known before in our lifetime.”
As part of the award, Janine received a stone hand-carved sculpture called ‘The Healer’s Touch’ from Zimbabwe. We would also like to congratulate Liz Adams from the Neonatal Surgery Unit, Hannah Richardson from the Haematology/Oncology Clinic and Alice Edwards from the Paediatric Critical Care Unit who were runners up and received DAISY award pin badges.
The DAISY award is an ongoing award process, so if you have a nurse in mind that you would like to win the next award, please take five minutes to nominate them.
