Congratulations to our latest Daisy Award winner

“Claire strives to do better and be better!”

Claire Mizler, Lead Specialist Nurse in Metabolic Medicine is our latest DAISY award winner. Claire joined the Metabolic Medicine team four years ago and has always shown an immense dedication to the service. She constantly works to improve herself and improve the service, and one way Claire has strived for a better service is by developing streamlined ways of working. 

Last week Jane Credland, Head of Nursing for MEDicine and Jenny Longden, Deputy Director of Nursing presented Claire with her award. Claire was nominated for being “a fantastic nurse with a strong commitment to developing the Metabolic Medicine service and offering our children and families the best possible care experience.”

What did Claire’s colleagues say about her?

In Claire’s nomination form, her colleague added: “She has at times had to manage the (nursing) service alone, during times of staff sickness etc. and during these times she has stepped up and worked additional hours to ensure the patients do not miss out.

“Claire is also working towards becoming a professional nurse advocate and due to attend the assessment module of the ANP course later this year. She is forward thinking in developing nurse-led services which will bring us in line with other metabolic centres and make us one of very few centres that will offer paediatric nurse-led Familial Hypercholesterolaemia clinics.

“She is also a much loved friend to us all in the Metabolic Medicine team offering advice, support and a listening ear and we are all very lucky to have her and work with her.”
