A Blue and White Christmas: Sheffield Wednesday visit Sheffield Children’s

Sheffield Wednesday players with a patient
21 December 2022
It’s a blue and white Christmas! We had a special festive visit from Sheffield Wednesday FC, at our Becton Centre but also at our hospital!

Darren Moore, Barry Bannan, Dennis Adeniran, Mallik Wilks, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Jack Hunt and Cameron Dawson visited our children and young people. They visited a number of wards and departments gifting goodies and bringing smiles to faces of not only the children and their families but also our colleagues.

Our Becton Centre also welcomed Sheffield Wednesday players Callum Paterson, Lee Gregory and David Stockdale to join in with lots of games and sports with the young people and staff.

Callum, Lee and David showed they weren’t just good with their feet as the young people staying at Becton put them through their paces with badminton, penalty shoot-outs, basketball and javelin throwing.

The Becton Centre for Children and Young People is a state-of-the-art centre for children and young adults aged up to 18 with serious and complex mental health issues. The centre offers inpatient services in three lodges: Emerald Lodge (ages 8-13), and Sapphire Lodge (ages 13-18). Ruby Lodge (for young people with learning disabilities ages 8-18).

Thank you Sheffield Wednesday for popping along to say Merry Christmas – we loved having you!
