Families now have easier access to Sheffield Children’s Hospital when coming for an appointment, surgery or a ward stay. With building work to the hospital now complete, the new Main Entrance on Clarkson Street is fully open. This includes a pick-up and drop-off turning circle, 24 hour manned reception hub, a Rowland’s pharmacy and a Costa Coffee.
With the full opening of the new Main Entrance, access to and from the Emergency Department on Western Bank to the rest of the hospital is being permanently closed from Monday 30 July to create a secure, self-contained space. Visitors whose bus stops on Western Bank should go around the corner to the Clarkson Street entrance to get to the hospital department they need. Families with wheelchairs and prams are already enjoying the street level access the new Main Entrance provides, as well as sheltered spaces to wait for taxis.
If you have an appointment at Sheffield Children’s soon, visit our travel and transport page to find out about parking and public transport routes near to the Clarkson Street entrance.
