Daisy Award runners up
30 January 2021
Congratulations to our inaugural Daisy Award runners-up, all proudly displaying their badges!

We are proud to partner with The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Foundation, an international recognition program that honours and celebrates the skilful and compassionate care nurses and midwives provide every day. As well as giving you the chance to say a personal thank you to a nurse at Sheffield Children’s for the treatment you or your loved ones received.

Hannah Richardson was nominated for her wonderful work on the Haematology and Oncology Clinic. Her nominator said: “She always went above and beyond with all the children on the ward and even when times were at their hardest, she somehow managed to make you feel loved and cared about and that no matter what, things would be ok.”

Liz Adams from the Neonatal Surgery Unit was described as by her nominator in glowing terms, they said: “I really can’t explain just how friendly and lovely she really is… I would trust my little girl’s life in her hands within a heartbeat. Someone who supports the family network is truly what we needed and I’ll never forget her for her kindness.”

Alice Edwards on the Paediatric Critical Care Unit was the final recipient of the pin badges. Her nominator praised the way that she: “Really got to know our son and us; she has put us at ease and we trust her completely. She explains everything so well and has all the patience in the world. She also was persistent in finding us accommodation so that we could stay with our son, as we live an hour away.”
