Sheffield Steelers bring festive fun to Sheffield Children’s!
We were lucky enough to be joined by the Steelers team as they visited patients, gifted toys and brought even more sparkle to our festivities here at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
The players met some of our smallest fans on the Neonatal Surgical Unit, talked all things hockey pucks, what it’s like being in goal and chatted about their Boxing Day fixtures with children and families across the wards! They also popped by to drop off some gifts for patients using our Emergency Department!
Kevin Tansey (Tansey Smash) and Mitchell Heard (Heard That) have led an incredibly generous fundraiser for Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity this year, asking the Steelers community to give back where they can this Christmas – and with over £4,000 raised and tonnes of toys gifted, the pair have blown us away with their kindness! Hosting a special toy drive at The Library in Attercliffe last Thursday, the team has brought lots of cheer to patients, families and staff here at Sheffield Children’s.
We can’t thank the Steelers family enough!
