It’s time to announce the winners of our most recent Theo Awards!

Developed in partnership with The Children’s Hospital Charity, the Theo Awards recognise and reward members of staff who embody our values of compassion, accountability, respect and excellence on a daily basis.

This month, we have four wonderful winners:

First up is Andrew Morrison, our amazing Emergency Planning Officer! Andrew was nominated for the amazing leadership skills that he demonstrated during our major incident planning exercise earlier this year. Colleagues said: “Andrew led by example and was a visible presence throughout the planning and running of the day. He insists on excellence in all that he does, and is an asset to Sheffield Children’s”

Next is Amy Hensman, Emergency Nurse Practitioner in the Emergency Department. Colleagues nominated Amy for her compassionate leadership and commitment to delivering excellent care. Nominators said: “Amy frequently goes above and beyond, leading by example and taking on any tasks that need doing. She guides and advises colleagues and also keeps morale high with her wonderful attitude.”

Burns Nurse Specialist Liz Nicholls was praised for her collaborative skills and dedication to supporting her team. Liz’s teammates said: “Liz is always willing to help. She frequently empowers junior staff members to accomplish much more than they think they are capable of with her kind mentorship style. She is friendly, treats all patients and staff with respect, and is driven to provide excellent care.”

Finally, Bethany Sweet, Hotel Services Admin Assistant, was recognised for her can-do attitude that helps the team deliver an outstanding service. Beth’s team said: “Beth always goes above and beyond. Nothing is too much trouble, and she is a credit to the team. She guides the team and is always on hand to help.”
