McClure Christmas at Sheffield Children’s

Jon and Chris McClure visit wards to meet staff
03 December 2025
We were delighted to welcome Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity ambassadors Jon McClure, lead singer and frontman of Sheffield-made band Reverend and the Makers and Chris McClure, AKA Assistant Manager of Royal Oak FC, Steve Bracknall!

Guitar in hand, Jon was joined by Chris on vocals as the brothers broke out the Christmas classics on the ward and in our outpatients department. They also chatted with children, young people, their families and staff in the hospital, reflecting on the time they’ve spent in hospital themselves and compared music playlists. To finish, they featured as special guests in a festive ward sing-a-long, a musical feature on our wards which is organised regularly by Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity’s arts programme, Art+.

Part of their work provides inclusive and creative workshops, led by professional artists and musicians – just like the one Chris and Jon joined.
This Christmas, your support can help fund arts and music workshops like this that bring creativity, calm, and engagement to the hospital environment.

Thank you Jon and Chris for kicking off our festive visits!
