It’s our 150th year – we want to hear from our oldest patients!

12 January 2026

Sheffield Children’s is 150 years old this year – what a milestone!
We are on the look out to speak to our oldest patients to understand where their life took them after care at Sheffield Children’s. If you are aged 80 or above, or know someone that is and had care at Sheffield Children’s – please get in touch!
For almost a century and a half, Sheffield Children’s Hospital has stood at the heart of the Sheffield community – a place where compassion meets clinical excellence, and every child’s wellbeing matters.
Sheffield Children’s was born in 1876 from the determination of the people of Sheffield to create a hospital dedicated to children. From that day to this, our purpose has remained the same: to create a healthier future for children and young people.
We’ve always provided a range of services for children and young people locally, and from further afield. Whether it was treatment for polio, a blood condition, a broken arm, burns, meningitis, hearing services – anything at all – we want to hear about how you were cared for and how it affected your life over the years.
