In the last three years the annual International Stillbirth Alliance (ISA) conference has taken place in locations across the world including Utah, Brisbane and Madrid. We are delighted that this year, Sheffield is hosting the 18th annual event between Thursday 29 June-Sunday 2 July.
Our Clinical Director of Pharmacy, Pathology, and Genetics – Marta Cohen – is one of the people working to make the conference happen, alongside other experts from the University of Sheffield including Dr Elspeth Whitby.
The conference is an opportunity for academics and practitioners from across the world to come together to learn, share ideas, and to address every aspect of pregnancy loss to help save more babies in the future.
This year the focus of the conference is ‘Reducing Inequality: Local to Global’. Some of the themes you can expect to hear more about include national disparities, humanitarian resources, global inequalities, diagnosis and support, and sociological/psychological/counselling perspectives.
You can find all the detailed information about the conference programme on the website where you can also purchase tickets for the event.
If you have personally suffered a loss through stillbirth, you are also invited to join the conference and you might be especially interested in the free memorial service taking place at St George’s church between 5.30pm-6.30pm on Saturday 1 July. If you are interested in attending the service to remember loved ones, you will need to register by emailing: enquiries@eventmanagementdirect.co.uk.
