strategy launch
01 February 2017

This month saw the launch of the Trust’s first Nursing and Allied Health Professional Strategy. The launch event, held at the Becton Centre for Children and Young People, was attended by a variety of staff from across the Trust and Professor Jane Cummings, Chief Nursing Officer for England.

The strategy, which has been developed by staff in a range of roles sets out key commitments to quality, professional development, and listening to staff and patients.

Sally Shearer, Director of Nursing and Quality said: “Our new strategy allows us to celebrate the values that really matter to nurses and AHPs.”

Jane Cummings said: “This strategy launch is an opportunity for nurses and AHPs to own and lead change based on evidence. I’m really proud that despite all the pressures we are facing, people say they are cared for compassionately.”

The visit also saw Professor Cummings learn about the 0-19 pathway with Health Visiting lead Pauline Williams, as well as the innovative schools link pilot aimed at improving young people’s mental health.
