The NHS turns 76 years old today, and what better way to celebrate than to highlight some amazing members of staff who have been named as the most recent winners of our Theo Awards?
Developed in partnership with The Children’s Hospital Charity, the Theo awards recognise and reward members of staff who embody our values of compassion, accountability, respect and excellence on a daily basis and demonstrate excellence in their work at Sheffield Children’s. This month, we’re celebrating a terrific trio:
First up, Rachel Horn, a Clinical Psychologist based on Emerald Lodge at the Becton centre for Children and Young People. Rachel was nominated for her empathy and leadership skills, which she uses to support those around her. According to her teammates, Rachel “goes above and beyond to make sure her team and the young people that they treat are receiving the best care and support she can offer.” Way to go, Rachel!
Next, Sharon Fernandes-Kore, Medical Human Resources Business Partner, was nominated for her compassion and her passion for supporting others. A teammate said: “Sharon has really demonstrated our Trust values to keep things on track; she has shown accountability and responsibility by working above and beyond and being committed to doing everything that she possibly can to support the team in carrying out their daily responsibilities.” Keep shining, Sharon!
Finally, we’re celebrating Emma Bird, one of our Operational Managers as part of our Medicine Care Group. Emma’s team highlighted her amazing dedication to caring for our children and young people, saying: “Emma listens and respects patients, parents, carers and members of the team! She always responds with kindness and empathy and does everything she can to make sure that our patients’ journeys and care are delivered to the best possible standard.” Well done, Emma!
Congratulations to all of our winners! Thank you for your commitment to delivering safe, kind and outstanding care.
