We’re celebrating 20 years of Giggle Doctors at Sheffield Children’s!

It’s Play in Healthcare Week, and what better way to celebrate the occasion than by recognising the wacky and wonderful work of Theodora Children’s Charity’s amazing Giggle Doctors?

We were visited by not one, not two, but FIVE Giggle Doctors who spent the day sharing joy and laughter with patients and families across Sheffield Children’s Hospital. The Giggle Doctors work alongside our amazing Play team at Sheffield Children’s to reduce stress and anxiety, increase opportunities for play, and improve children’s experience in healthcare settings.

After a tea-riffic party where children, young people and their families were invited to try out some fabulous arts and crafts, the Giggle Doctors shared their joy across the Hospital, visiting across our wards, singing songs, giving gifts and meeting families in our Outpatients Department too!

Play is part of our DNA at Sheffield Children’s Foundation Trust – it is an important way to help children and young people their develop their confidence, fuel their imagination and creativity, and to experience joy and special moments in challenging situations.
