There are a number of ways in which patients, families and colleagues at Sheffield Children’s can pay our respects to the Queen.

We’ve opened Books of Condolence for those who wish to pay their respects to the Queen if they are on site. They will close on the day after the funeral on 19 September according to the Royal family’s wishes.

At the hospital site the book is in the multi-faith chapel, which is open 24 hours a day. The chapel is part of the Chaplaincy Centre on D Floor of Blue Wing, next to the Cystic Fibrosis Unit. It can be accessed by the blue lifts.

There are also books in the reception areas at the Becton Centre and Centenary House, which are open 9am-5pm and 8.30am-5pm Monday to Friday respectively.

A condolence book will also be available at the Ryegate Centre from tomorrow [Tuesday]. Please contact the centre’s management team if you wish to sign it.

If colleagues are aware of any patients who would like to contribute to the Book of Condolence but are unable to visit the chapel in person, the chaplaincy team are happy to receive drawings or written contributions and add them to the book. They can be contacted on 0114 271 7338.

An online Book of Condolence has been opened on the official Royal Family website.

Books of Condolence are also available at Sheffield Town Hall from 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
