On 15 November 2025, Sheffield Children’s turned 149 years old.

For almost a century and a half, Sheffield Children’s Hospital has stood at the heart of the Sheffield community – a place where compassion meets clinical excellence, and every child’s wellbeing matters.

Sheffield Children’s was born in 1876 from the determination of the people of Sheffield to create a hospital dedicated to children. From that day to this, our purpose has remained the same: to create a healthier future for children and young people.

As we prepare to mark 150 years of caring for children and young people, our birthday wish is to hear your stories!

If you’re aged 21 and above and had care with us during your childhood we would love to know how the care you received contributed to your future.

We would like to tell the story of Sheffield Children’s through the voices of those who know it best – yours – please share your story here: https://www.sheffieldchildrens.nhs.uk/about-us/your-sheffield-childrens-story/

Together, let’s take pride in our past and inspire the future 💙
