You can search for physical resources and ebooks using the library catalogue. For electronic resources such as journals and databases, please see finding and requesting information.

We are happy to post books to community based staff through internal post – books can also be returned this way.

Borrowing

How many books can I borrow? Up to 10 books

How long can I borrow them for? Most books are issued for three weeks, but exam books are for one week

Can I renew my books? Yes, as long as no one else has reserved them. You can renew by calling, emailing or dropping into the library, or by logging into the catalogue.

Are there charges for late returns? Yes, books that are late will accrue fines of 20p per day, or 50p per day if they are reserved

Can I return books when the library is closed? Yes, we have a book drop box just outside the library. Please only use this when we are closed.

Reservations and requests

Items can be reserved through the library catalogue or you can contact us to do it for you. We will let you know when the item is ready to collect.

Please use our book request form if you want something not listed on the catalogue.

Copying / scanning items

We have a black & white/colour printer and photocopier for A4 and A3 printing, copying or scanning. Scanning to a Sheffield Children’s email address is free, but there are charges for printing and copying. Charges can be added to departmental accounts if you have permission, speak to us if you would like more details.
