We help staff stay up to date with the latest developments in paediatric healthcare across a wide range of specialist areas:
We offer a variety of specialist services to help staff stay up to date with the latest developments.
Our Book a Librarian service gives the opportunity for an individual or a departmental group to discuss their current awareness needs and how best to manage staying up-to-date. Please request a session this form. We will respond to your request within two working days.
We have moved our Netvibes service to Feedly and are currently developing training for users on setting up their own personalised Feedly accounts, containing feeds and journal contents pages relevant to the individual. If you are interested in this training, please contact the library.
We have recently revamped our Articles of Interest service (formerly known as ‘Monthly Articles of Interest’, or MAI). To replace the monthly spreadsheet, we have moved to curating boards on Feedly. You can select a board on this page to browse items we have added, sorted by most recent first. Boards are listed in alphabetical order. You can check these boards at any time, as best suits you. We will search for new articles and update these boards once a week (usually on a Wednesday).
On a regular basis we add to our library catalogue articles published by Sheffield Children’s employees. These records link to the Pubmed record of the article. Any article which you cannot access yourself may be requested free of charge (Sheffield Children’s staff only).
Every Monday the Library team email the bulletin to all staff. This contains updates about the latest reports, guidance and articles published, library blog posts, training events and other useful information.
The library also runs a monthly email alerting system to inform you about new items in stock which match your subject interests. Please contact the library for details.
You can contact us and also receive information we think may be useful to you by following us on social media. Visit our social media page for further details.
