Clinical interests
Lee is a consultant spinal surgeon and has a full time spinal practice in the National Health Service. He undertakes all forms of spinal surgery including the treatment of degenerative conditions, scoliosis, tumours, trauma and infections.
Qualifications and training
– MBChB, MSc, FRCS(Tr&Orth)
Lee trained in Sheffield and Birmingham before fellowships in St Louis, San Diego and Nottingham.
Lee was a medical student in Sheffield qualifying in 1994. He worked in Sheffield until 1999 when he began his Orthopaedic training in the West Midlands working at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.
He specialised in spinal surgery before completing three fellowships in spinal deformity and reconstruction in St Louis and San Diego in the USA, followed by the British Orthopaedic Association National Fellowship in Nottingham.
Research and teaching
Lee is currently the Revalidation Lead at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, enjoys teaching and regularly participates in International educational programmes. His research interests include Early Onset Scoliosis, with participation in the international study on the novel trolley system.
