Claire qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1994 and has worked at Sheffield Children’s since 1997. She began working with children with Osteogenesis Imperfecta in 1999 and has continued to specialise in the physiotherapy management of children with metabolic bone disease and achondroplasia. She enjoys treating and empowering children and their families, enabling children to become confident, resilient, independent young adults with the drive and ambition to achieve their goals.
Claire is interested in research, completing her PhD in 2015 and developing the OIQoL, an OI specific Quality of Life questionnaire; enabling assessment of the physical and emotional wellbeing of children aged 6-18 years. More recently her interests have involved issues related to sleep problems in OI and pain, alongside the impact this has on wellbeing and physical function.
