Profile

I am an NMC-registered Nurse and Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) in Health Visiting, with extensive experience working with children, young people and families in primary care. I have worked across South Yorkshire in a range of nursing and public health roles and currently work as a Sleep Nurse within the Sheffield Sleep Disorders Service, providing specialist assessment, advice and behavioural sleep support to children, young people and their families.

I have a particular interest in behavioural sleep medicine and sleep improvement and have undertaken specialist training in sleep practice and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). My previous experience includes leading a nurse-led paediatric sleep improvement service, where I developed and delivered structured behavioural sleep interventions for children and young people with a range of sleep difficulties.

Alongside my clinical role, I have experience in paediatric sleep research and have worked on research projects evaluating innovative approaches and technologies within sleep care. My background in health visiting and public health enables me to take a holistic approach, considering the developmental, behavioural, family and wider health determinants that can influence a young person’s sleep.

I completed my nurse training at the University of Sheffield and subsequently gained a Master of Medical Science (MMedSci) and Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University. My particular interests are behavioural sleep medicine and public health approaches to sleep improvement.
