Lisa Cook trained as a Registered Sick Children Nurse in Sheffield and Qualified in 2005. Following qualification Lisa gained experience working in the Accident and Emergency Department at The Children’s Hospital, Sheffield and as a School Staff Nurse working in schools across the North of Sheffield.
Lisa joined the Neurology team based at The Ryegate Children’s Centre in 2010 as Epilepsy Outreach Nurse, providing a specialist service to community colleagues to ensure the provision of appropriate management of epilepsy in education, respite and other community settings.
Lisa has a particular interest in adolescents with epilepsy, jointly with paediatric neurologists Lisa holds weekly clinics with a particular emphasis on the needs of the adolescent with epilepsy. Working with colleagues in adult epilepsy services Lisa facilitates the transition of young people with epilepsy into adult services.
In May 2013 Lisa will commence additional specialised epilepsy training through Edinburgh Napier University.
