As the Dietitian for the Paediatric Bone Disease Service at Sheffield Children’s Hospital I provide nutritional treatment to promote growth potential. This can be to encourage weight gain, especially during the early years but also to try and prevent excessive weight gain as children get a bit older. It is my responsibility to calculate individually tailored diets for each infant and child, meeting their nutritional requirements for growth and to promote development.
Treatment plans can include tube feeding, supplementation, advice around vitamins or minerals available through diet and growth monitoring.
I love my job and feel really lucky to work alongside a fantastic team supporting children and their families with metabolic bone conditions.
