Adult Dysfluency Service

We run a service for adults, aged 16 or over, who stammer (also called dysfluency). This is supported by Sheffield Children’s Hospital with the clinic based at Flockton House.

First appointments for assessment are for about an hour. The therapist discusses with the patient how the stammer impacts upon their life as well as understanding what they want from therapy.

Therapy sessions are usually individual but once a year we aim to run an intensive course for interested adults, if appropriate.

Medical professionals can make a referral to see a Speech and Language Therapist by completing and returning a referral form:
