General Paediatrics

nurses with patient

In General Paediatrics we treat children, both inpatient and outpatient, up to the age of 16. We diagnose and treat many different non-surgical conditions including:

  • headaches
  • asthma
  • heart murmurs
  • abdominal pain
  • urinary tract infection
  • constipation
  • overseeing the overall care of children with chronic problems

Clinics

Community paediatricians provide a general paediatric service in various locations around the city in both health and education premises.

Inpatient care is provided on wards at the hospital.

Sheffield Children’s Hospital offers full range of diagnostic tests (mostly by appointment) and capillary blood phlebotomy service.

Sometimes other tests will be done at the Northern General Hospital.
