Burns Unit

Burns Unit

Here on the Burns Unit we care for patients immediately after sustaining a burn injury and in the following weeks. The Burns Unit also cares for children with other skin loss conditions such as Staphylococcal Scalded Skin Syndrome (SSSS).

We have a dedicated team of excellent surgeons and a friendly team of experienced nursing and therapy staff giving highly skilled care.

Find out more about the Burns Service.

The Burns Unit has four inpatient beds and a daily dressing service.

Each bed space has a comfortable camp bed for parents to stay overnight.

We have a parents’ toilet and shower just off the ward next to a small but comfortable parents’ room, where families can go to eat and drink.

A coffee vending machine is also situated here.

We also have a play room for children with toys and our own play specialists to keep patients entertained.
