Parking information

There are currently no car parking facilities at the main Children’s Hospital site due to major hospital and car park construction work.

Car access is limited to drop off and pick up only.

Please note that The University of Sheffield are carrying out some significant remodelling work to roads near the hospital which may affect your journey. This interactive map shows dates and locations of planned disruption around the campus.

Public transport

The hospital is well served by buses and close to the tram route. We encourage all parents and visitors to the hospital to use public transport.

Find out more about public transport options and use our online journey planner tool to plan your visit to the main hospital site.

Parking at other sites

  • Ryegate Children's Centre - parking is limited on the site and restrictions apply on surrounding streets.
  • The Becton Centre - has a free car park for patients and parents and further spaces on the road outside. However, the car park can be very busy at peak times.
  • Northern General - has considerably more parking available although at peak times this may be very busy.

A number of disabled parking spaces are available at these sites and for blue badge holders there are some opportunities for on-street parking nearby.
