We can hardly believe it, but after another busy year our final Super Saturday event of 2023 is taking place next weekend on Saturday 18 November! Super Saturdays are a brilliant chance for us to do things a little differently and we love spending time out in the community meeting lots of children and young people and their families. This time the event is going to focus on supporting children and young people with their mental wellbeing and their oral health, and our teams will be based in three different locations in the community – including, for the first time, the central library in Sheffield City Centre.
We’re especially excited to be working in collaboration with lots of brilliant community organisations for this event and we’ll be joined by SAYit, Chilypep, Change, Grow, Live (The Corner), The Lucy Project, Sheffield Bloom and The Golddigger Trust at Meadowhall. There will be a chance to meet with professionals from these teams, and ours, and there will be lots of opportunity to take part in activities like mindful painting, creating mental health first aid kits, and even baby massage demonstrations.
Next Saturday will be the first time we’ll be based at the library for one of our events and we’re sure the quieter environment and gentle surroundings will be a really special place to offer activities for children and young people, and a chance for families to talk with our teams.
And that’s not all! We’re keeping our fingers crossed for dry weather and sunshine as you’ll also be able to find our teams at the brilliant Highfield Adventure Playground. Like earlier this year, there will be bubbles and lots of fun, as well as the chance to talk with our teams about the different ways children and young people can support their mental wellbeing.
Throughout the day there’ll be a bear-y special guest joining us from The Children’s Hospital Charity – Theo can’t wait to meet you and we know he’s got some good dancing skills and high-fives up his sleeve ready to go.
See you there!
