People will have an opportunity to learn more about Sheffield Children’s and ask questions about its work at the Trust’s first ever virtual annual meeting.
During the meeting Trust leaders will provide an update on the work and achievements of Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust during 2019/20.
There will be an opportunity to hear from the Trust’s Chief Executive and Director of Finance as well as its external auditors. There will also be an opportunity for people to take part in virtual break-out groups and ask questions of the Board.
The meeting will end with a showcase of the fantastic work of the Sheffield Children’s nursing team to mark the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife.
The 90-minute event on Monday 21 September 2020 will start at 4pm and anyone can join through a web link.
The annual members’ meeting is normally held at the hospital site, but the decision was made to hold the session virtually in light of the current restrictions. It is hoped this approach will make the meetings more accessible to families.
Chair of the Trust, Sarah Jones, said: “We’re really excited about our first virtual meeting, and can’t wait to talk to everyone about everything that’s been happening at Sheffield Children’s.
“We will miss seeing everyone in person, but this approach is hopefully a lot more convenient for families and the breakout groups will give us more opportunities to hear from the public than ever before.”
People can register their place at the annual meeting by completing the form at www.sheffieldchildrens.nhs.uk/about-us/trust-membership where there is also information about becoming a member of the Trust. You will be sent a link to the event a day or two before with instructions on how to join.
Anyone is welcome to the meeting including patients, parents, staff and members of the wider community.
