Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a new financially-qualified associate non-executive director to join the Trust’s Board of Directors, and help influence its strategic direction over the coming year.
This is a new role on our Board that we have created in order to enhance our succession planning, bring additional depth to our decision-making and develop our own talent. The successful candidate will join a highly capable Board that prides itself on keeping patients at the heart of its decisions.
Associate non-executive directors receive all access to Board and committee meetings and papers, but will not hold a vote. After a one year term in the role, and subject to continued satisfactory performance, it is intended that the successful candidate will migrate into a substantive non-executive director role without the need for any further process.
Sheffield Children’s is the only dedicated children’s trust in the country that provides care for children and young people across community, mental health and acute specialist settings.
We are seeking candidates who will help us to better reflect the diverse experiences of our staff, patients and stakeholders. We particularly would welcome applications from members of our Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities who are currently under-represented on our Board of Directors.
In addition to their financial qualification, the successful candidate will have a track record of leadership, strategic focus and personal achievement in a complex environment. As a non-executive director they will need the ability to influence the strategic direction of the organisation and have a passion for developing the quality of service provided by the Trust. They will also need to act as an ambassador and advocate for the Trust.
If you are interested in applying for the role, you can download the candidate guide here. To have an informal conversation about the role, please email or call Matthew Kane: matthew.kane1@nhs.net / 0114 2717593.
To apply, please submit a CV and a structured letter of application of no more than two sides that identifies how you meet the requirements of the person specification (see penultimate page of the candidate guide) to matthew.kane1@nhs.net by 29 August 2021.
