A message for anyone aged between 13 and 16!
Usually at school, between year 8 and year 11, young people receive two HPV (human papillomavirus) vaccinations, one TDP (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) vaccination, and one vaccination for MEN-ACWY (which protects against serious infections like meningitis).
If you haven’t received these vaccinations, or you’re not sure if you have, please call the Sheffield Children’s School Nursing team on 0114 3053230 to book an appointment as soon as you can.
Pauline Williams, Head of 0-19 Community Service which includes the School Nursing team, said: “It’s really important that young people book these vaccinations with our School Nursing team, to help protect themselves as well as their friends and family. These vaccinations protect against a range of different serious diseases, without the vaccinations you could potentially be vulnerable to serious infections.”
