Children’s Takeover Day

We’re taking part in the Takeover Challenge on Friday 17 November by hosting our own ‘Children’s Takeover Day’ when a number of young people will come in and shadow members of hospital staff.

The aim is to give young people a greater insight into various roles at the hospital while giving us as a Trust the chance to listen and learn from the ideas of young people.

Members of our Youth Forum will be working with a variety of staff including a director, a doctor, a play specialist, a nurse and an art therapist.

One space left…

We have one remaining vacancy for Children’s Takeover Day. The young person would be shadowing Ken Green, the Senior Technical Officer in our Works Department.

Ken has a varied role, including being responsible for all repairs in the hospital, managing projects, and dealing with mechanical and electrical equipment. He also leads on the hospital’s Christmas light installation!

The role would be suitable for a 14 to 18 year old with an interest in engineering and related areas.
