Help to transform our extraordinary hospital into something even better.

Following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, it has been confirmed that the day of the funeral Monday 19 September will be a national bank holiday.
The decision to postpone or reschedule care is never an easy one to make, especially at short notice, and it is not one we take lightly. We have reviewed all patients who had appointments and visits scheduled on Monday 19 September. Taking into account greatly reduced public transport and school closures, our services will be moving to bank holiday care with some exceptions for urgent and complex care. Please see below:
All our emergency services will continue as normal.
If you or your child is poorly across the weekend, we recommend looking at South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Healthier Together website first for health advice: https://sybhealthiertogether.nhs.uk/
Outpatients across the Trust will not be open and we are in the process of rearranging all appointments booked on the 19 September.
If your child had an appointment booked for Monday, you will be contacted to say it is being rearranged. Patients will be contacted within the next two weeks to arrange a new date for the appointment.
There are a small number of services that will continue by exception, families will be contacted directly if this involves their care.
Rowlands Pharmacy at the hospital site will be closed on 19 September. Families are advised to come a different day to collect prescriptions. The Pharmacy is open on Saturday from 10am to 1pm and then again on Tuesday from 9am to 6pm.
We are extremely grateful for your understanding and patience and would extend our thanks to all colleagues at Sheffield Children’s at this time.
