Sheffield Children’s is working in partnership with the British Academy of Childhood Disability (BACD) to offer the Motor Disorders course.

Audience: Paediatricians and specialist nurses, but may also be of interest and benefit for professionals in the wider health teams/services.

Cost: £450 (£400 for BACD members)

Course content

This course has been developed by paediatric disability experts at Sheffield Children’s.

After completing the course you will be able to:

  1. Understand the pathology and pathophysiology relating to motor disabilities and synthesise this into clinical practice.
  2. Assess and manage children and young people with motor disabilities.
  3. Make informed judgements within this area of Neurodisability, knowing when to ask for help and when to refer on.
  4. Critically evaluate local health services.
  5. Contribute to service development and present a case for this.
  6. Provide effective advice to education services.

Application information

You can apply and start the course any time throughout the year.

The course is self-paced. As a guide, a minimum of four hours study time per week should help you to complete the course in approximately four months. We are flexible with the timeframe as there is no deadline for completion.

Registrations are accepted all year round.
