Are you ready for your next nursing challenge?

Are you looking for a supportive and compassionate environment focused on professional growth and excellence in care? We’re looking for experienced dynamic and compassionate senior staff nurses to join our progressive team in the Helena Specialist Nursing Team and Ryegate House in Sheffield.

About our service

Ryegate House is a six-bedded facility providing 24-hour nursing care and short breaks for children and young people (0-19 years) with complex neurological health conditions. As part of the Helena Specialist Nursing Team, you’ll deliver high-quality, personalised care in homes, schools, and our facility, offering safe and nurturing respite for families. For further information about the service, please see the attached document.

About the role

This is a fantastic chance to grow your skills in specialised areas, such as tracheostomy and ventilation, while gaining experience in education and teaching within the community setting and the wider organisation. You will experience day to day line management of the team, contribute to service growth, and support both palliative patients and their families. Additionally, you’ll become a subject matter expert in critical areas such as sepsis, infection control, and tissue viability.

Want to know more?

We are holding a Career and Service Discovery event on Monday 17 March where you can learn about the role and support available, talk to current team members, and stay for an ‘on-the-spot interview’ if interested. To be invited to this event, please apply before 2 March detailing where and how you meet the essential criteria for the role. If eligible, you will be invited to the event.

Reporting to the Nurse Team Manager, you will:

  • Provide skilled nursing care
  • Advocate for patients and families, ensuring holistic and seamless care as part of a diverse team
  • Support colleague development and deliver clinical education for team members, patients, families, and external providers
  • Provide leadership to less experienced colleagues, managing the service in the Team Manager’s absence
  • Assist the Team Manager in maintaining quality of care, managing resources, and representing the team at relevant meetings

About you

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Notable nursing experience, including the completion of your preceptorship programme and Intravenous medication training with added line management experience and skills
  • Experience making a difference to children and young people with complex needs
