Help make a difference to children's lives
Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust has always viewed the research and innovation of new treatments and technologies as very high priority and this is evident in the commitment of our researchers and research management alike. We are privileged to have working with us some of the country's leading professionals in paediatric conditions such as:
• Bone Disease
• Oncology and Haematology
• Cystic Fibrosis
• Respiratory Disease
• Diabetes Growth and Nutrition
• and the Genetic basis of many rare diseases.
Our research support teams have specific expertise in the area of paediatric research administration and the Clinical Research Facility (CRF) incorporates support and expertise throughout the research process.
The integration of research administrative and clinical support ensures that whilst initiation requirements of the trial or research project are being processed, planning is underway at the same time to co-ordinate the actual conduct of the study, thus ensuring a streamlined and rapid conclusion to research enquiries.
What this means in practice is that high quality research projects of national importance can be executed quickly and become part of clinical practice in as shorter time as possible, fulfilling our aim of developing innovative and pioneering treatments for children.
The following pages will help to guide families and colleagues on the process of research and offer guidance for anyone wishing to become involved in research or to carry out research within the Trust.
