Skills Pledge

Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust has signed up to the national Skills Pledge which is a voluntary, corporate commitment made by organisations to support employees and develop their basic skills including literacy and numeracy, and work towards vocational qualifications to at least level 2 (equivalent to 5 good GCSEs).

The purpose is to ensure that staff are skilled, competent and able to make a full contribution to the success of an organisation.

The Government will provide funding to help those who do not currently have a full level 2 qualification to gain basic literacy and numeracy skills as well as a full level 2 qualification.

The Skills Pledge is a commitment to:

• Actively encourage and support employees to gain the skills and qualifications that will support their future employability and meet the needs of the employer organisation.
• Trust opportunities are available to work towards full level 2 qualification to meet the skills and knowledge requirement of the role.
