Help make a difference to children's lives
Having a child who needs to go to hospital can be extremely upsetting, particularly if they are so sick that they need intensive care.
Here is a leaflet which will provide you with some information about why your child might need transferring to a specialist hospital, along with some information about the different hospitals in the region.
If your child has been born early and has not yet gone home, they will usually be taken to a Neonatal (newborn) Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
If your child has been discharged from hospital and then becomes critically ill, they will usually be taken to a Paediatric (children's) Intensive Care Unit.
