Help make a difference to children's lives
The Illingworth Library primarily serves health professionals in Sheffield but it is open to anyone for reference purposes. If you want to borrow items from us, you need to register for library membership. See below for types of membership.
Staff employed by Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust (SCH) can access the full range of services offered by the Illingworth Library. You will need to complete a registration form and return it to the library either in person or through the post.

You will be issued with a University of Sheffield NHS ticket, which will also entitle you to borrow from the University of Sheffield libraries. Loan periods, number of loans and fines vary. Please check with individual libraries for details. To use some of the library services remotely you will need your library membership number and a PIN. PINs can be requested via the online catalogue.
University of Sheffield (UOS) and Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) students on placement and pre-registration students based on SCH sites can use the Illingworth Library to study, borrow books and use the computers. Students will be referred to their university library for other services. You will need to show your university card to the library staff and your details will be registered. Loan periods, number of loans and fines may be different from your home institution. Please check with the Illingworth Library for details.
Members of the general public and those working within health-related private sector organizations are welcome to use the Illingworth Library on a reference basis (this excludes access to electronic resources except the library catalogue).
