How can I get involved in research?

If you would like to get involved in a research project or clinical trial, please contact the Clinical Research Facility team. The team will be happy to offer you practical advice and assistance about how your family can help.

People become involved in research for many different reasons. Even if you decide not to take part in a study directly, there are many other ways in which you can help. Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) is important because it ensures that the research reflects the needs and views of patients and members of the public.Involvement can mean many different things, including:

  • Identifying and prioritising research topics
  • Being a part of research advisory groups and project steering groups
  • Undertaking research projects
  • Reporting and communicating research findings
