Don’t worry about missing out on schoolwork or even exams when you are in hospital.

The Hospital School is made up of a team of experienced teachers and teaching assistants who will support you with your schoolwork. You don’t even need to get out of bed as they will come to you! We are here to help you keep up with work, or to help with those annoying bits and pieces you never really understood!

If you are likely to be in hospital for more than a few days, your school will be contacted to enable the teachers to follow the work your classmates are doing.

Schoolwork in hospital is fun. We are well supplied with resources for all Key Stages and for children with special needs. There are laptops available for pupils to use, plus, on the bedhead entertainment centres is an assortment of DVDs linked to the curriculum.

Once you are well enough to go home, our staff will talk to the nurses and a fax will be sent to let your school know when to expect you back. If you are too poorly to go back for several weeks, you may get home tuition from one of our Outreach Teachers…
