Course content:

This course focuses on the types of healthcare information that are available on the Internet, the criteria used to evaluate websites and the use of search engines and gateways to access health information.

Who should attend:

All SCH staff who wish to use the internet effectively to support their practice or professional development.

Pre-requisites:

Basic IT skills and familiarity with internet browsing.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the session you should:

• Be able to search for health information using reliable sources
• Be aware of key sources that will provide specific types of information
• Be able to assess the quality and reliability of web sites
