Our public, patient, carer and staff governors are elected independently by our members. Members can stand for election and become a governor themselves.
We have regular elections and all governors can serve up to a three year term of office. At the end of the term of office there will be an open election for their seat. Our elections are staggered so that changes to the Council of Governors are not wholesale. Governors can stand for election for a second term if they wish and serve a maximum of six years as a governor.
When elections are due to take place we do publicise them to eligible members and in our newsletters.
If you have told us that you are interested in standing for election we will automatically send you relevant information in advance of elections and we will send you a nomination form as soon as they are made available to members.
Look at the Notice of Election section at the side of this page to find out more.
Our governors come from all walks of life and have a great variety of experiences and knowledge. We would encourage anyone who can answer yes to the following questions to consider standing for election.
