Our specialist services receive referrals from the UK and internationally.
Each of our patients matters to us.
Help make a difference to children's lives

We see families and individuals at risk and affected by genetic conditions. Although we are based at the Sheffield Children's Hospital, we see adults and children.
We generally see patients from South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and South Humberside. Where possible, we see patients in a clinic near their home.
Genetic conditions can affect people at different times in their lives. Some people, who know about a condition already, may have a question about planning or extending a family. Others may wish to discuss their testing and screening options or plan future care. For some families who find out about a genetic condition for the first time when they are pregnant, or after the birth of a baby, there can be many questions and concerns to discuss. Our specially trained staff will discuss your questions and worries with you and your family no matter what your situation.
You will be seen by either a specialist doctor or genetic counsellor. You can find out about our staff members on meet the team. If you are interested how our doctors are trained in genetics, please click on this link www.bshg.org.uk.

We run general and specialist clinics across the region. Not all specialist clinics are held in every area. We will invite you to the clinic that best suits your needs.
