Becton Centre for Children and Young People
The Becton Centre is a newly commissioned sub-regional Tier 4 intensive treatment, day and in patient service for children and young people up to the age of 18 with serious and complex mental health problems.
The planning for this service has been taking place over a number of years.
The previous services Shirle Hill and Oakwood have been incorporated into the Becton Centre, which has four teams:
- Amber Lodge for 5 - 11 year olds
- Emerald Lodge for 10 - 14 year olds
- Sapphire Lodge for 15 - 18 year olds
- Ruby Lodge for 8 - 18 year olds, this is a inpatient assessment service for children with learning disabilities and mental health problems.
The Becton teams are housed in the refurbished community hospital building in Beighton, which provides excellent modern facilities, and includes the Becton School.
